My house is a party house! I love entertaining and in the last few years it has been home to every bridal and baby shower my girls have had. Darrell says we create reasons to celebrate (so not true lol). Celebrations give the perfect settings for fellowship and those simple family get togethers that are so important. When I was growing up, families were large and usually all in one town. Sunday dinners were celebrations void of flowers and decor but filled with people and the laughter that is so important.
Today the family dynamic is very different. College takes you away, jobs etc. and that’s a great thing but we must still create those values. Maybe the table has as many friends as family. Different cultures and perspectives make those old family gatherings even more important. You might not want to have your door revolve as much as mine, and I totally get that…. but pick a day this summer to celebrate something or just host a gathering for no reason at all. The laughter in the house will surely make you want a hostess hat of your own!
